Legal Officer (Family & Criminal Law)

We are looking for a qualified woman* solicitor or barrister with experience of family law to deliver our vital legal services for women as part of our family and criminal law team.

You will be delivering family law advice to women who have experienced or are at risk of Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) over the telephone on our advice line and potentially casework in relation to injunction applications. A good knowledge of the injunction process including enforcement is required.

The postholder will assist in delivery of our online FLOWS forum and increase engagement from stakeholders in this forum.

You will also be responsible for delivery of Rights of Women’s core services including delivering training and writing publications. You will also contribute to our policy work.

Salary: Full-time equivalent rate per annum £34,581 Gross Pay plus 3% pension contribution

Conditions: 35 hours per week (Full time/5 days)

Holiday entitlement: 25 days annual leave plus public holidays [FTE per annum rate]

Location: Home-based. Possibility of occasional travel requirement in the future across England and Wales, after lockdown restrictions are eased, for meetings or delivery of training.

Line Manager: Senior Legal Officer (Family & Criminal law)

Duration: Fixed term until 31 March 2021. Possibility of extension, subject to funding.
