Got a ballot place in the Virgin Money London Marathon 2017? Run for Rights of Women

If you have successfully secured a Virgin Money London Marathon public ballot place and are unsure which charity you would like to support, please consider running for Rights of Women.

Why run for Rights of Women?

Since 1975, Rights of women has been supporting women who are facing violence and abuse to achieve justice and safety through the law. We are a small specialist legal charity providing free legal advice to women in often desperate circumstances across England and Wales, enabling them to take steps to ensure safety for themselves and their families. Our work is greatly needed in these times, but like most other charities we rely strongly on goodwill to survive.

This year we have secured our first ever charity ballot place in the London Marathon. We are delighted to have one guaranteed runner but would love to increase our presence at the event, raise the profile of our issues and increase our fundraising by having a bigger running team.

Support we will offer you

We want you to feel part of our team – not only will we be there rooting for you on the day, we will support you in any way we can along the way. As this is our first time at being involved in the  marathon, we are keen to agree a tailored programme of support around your needs.

As a runner for Rights of Women we will provide you with:

  • A fundraising pack
  • Your very own runner’s top with your name on it, to wear on the day
  • A friendly team to support you all the way

We also have a host of other ideas about how we can support our runners during their training and help with fundraising through a creative online money raising campaign, to be discussed over the coming months.

There is no minimum fundraising target, just have fun and raise as much as you can!

If you are interested please get in touch by completing the Own place form and email it back to info@row.org.uk. We will contact you shortly afterwards. Please note that we welcome runners of any gender, not just women.

By signing up as an Own Place runner, you must have already received your place and paid your entry fee directly to the event organisers.
